Each snake is coming into the frame from the outside, their heads are visible as the markers of the end yet the beginning itself remains unseen. Their separation is an illusion of our incapability to see them whole, they will not reveal themselves as one, which is what they truly are. Both blue snake-heads are from the same body, yet they themselves are unaware of this reality. They also believe they are separate. When entering the scene a lotus grows beside them, the lotus holds three eggs. Two small ones and one large one. The snake-heads surround those eggs. They are protecting the core of our being, three stages of ourselves where only one of them remains to be our permanence. The snakes don’t have eyes, therefore they cannot see which egg is more important, they protect them all equally. These eggs are snake eggs, except one. The scene is enlightened by the sun with two moons, one in front and the other behind the sun. After this scene was painted one of the snake-heads ate the sun, the second ate the moon. One of them ate the small egg, the second one ate the other small egg. They thought that would be the best way to protect them. Locking them inside of themselves. Due to their blindness they didn’t see the third large egg being left behind on the lotus flower. Now one moon remains. One large egg surrounded by one moon remains.
